Linsanity of Jeremy Lin

Check out Jeremy Lin as he hits this three pointer with .5 seconds left on the clock to lift the Knicks to their sixth straight win and continue his stellar play!

Did you know that...

On January 17, 2012, Lin was assigned to the Erie BayHawks of the D-League. On January 20, he had a triple-double with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in the BayHawks' 122–113 victory over the Maine Red Claws. Lin was recalled by the Knicks three days later.

Before that, he was just competing for a backup position. Imagine how his career changed had he not been demoted to the D-League. I guess he would still be warming the benches of other players til now.

There could be other "Jeremy Lins" out there just waiting for a break.

Going vegan

This video made me think about going vegan...

... for a couple of minutes. But then I realized that it's just a PETA ad.

BWVAKTBOOM is a phenomenon that is sweeping the nation and affecting countless individuals whose partners have gone vegan.
BWVAKTBOOM stands for "Boyfriend Went Vegan And Knocked The Bottom Out Of Me".

Great ad. They almost got me. =D

Why do men show a ring when proposing?

Watch how olympian Matt Grevers proposed to U.S. National Team swimmer Annie Chandler in this video I have seen just now.

It made me think.

I understand why men kneel when proposing. What I don't understand is why we have to show them a ring. Is it a bribe? Like an incentive to accept the proposal? I refuse to believe this even if it makes sense. Can anyone offer another explanation? =D

Note: I did show F a ring when I proposed but I didn't kneel. She pleaded me not to kneel. I proposed in Changi Airport and she didn't want to make a scene. =D
